Celebrate Canada Day with your WSO at the Lyric Theatre in Assiniboine Park on Wednesday, July 1 at 11:10 am. 

Join us for a free 45-minute outdoor concert of orchestral favourites and a few surprises, performed in one of Winnipeg’s most iconic summer settings. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy live music under the open sky as part of the city’s Canada Day celebrations. 

Led by the WSO’s associate conductor Monica Chen, the program features highlights from Mendelssohn’s Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5, and music by Canadian composers Chan Ka Nin and Jean Coulthard. Audiences will also enjoy music from Star Wars and Star Trek, along with a few surprises. Joining the orchestra is Winnipeg-born soprano Grace Budoloski, a rising Canadian soprano known for her bright, agile voice and expressive performances. 

No tickets are required. Simply arrive, find a spot on the field, and enjoy the music.
