On Tuesday, June 17, Sistema Winnipeg students took to the stage at Tec Voc Theatre for the annual Michael Nozick Spring Concert! This was an uplifting evening filled with celebration and many musical achievements, showcasing up to 140 students from Elwick and King Edward Community Schools! The concert was a resounding celebration of their hard work, growth, and dedication throughout the school year. It featured performances from all Sistema Winnipeg ensembles (Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, and Dvořák) and a premiere of our collaboration with Melody McKiver—a Two-Spirit Anishinaabe violist, composer, and educator, presented in partnership with GroundSwell.

As we bring the 2024–25 school year to a close, the Sistema Winnipeg team would like to extend our deepest thanks to all who have been part of this year’s journey – our students, families, teachers, Teaching Artists, volunteers, administrators, school partners, and community supporters. Together, we have continued to foster connection, musical creativity, and social growth throughout the year, with the recent spring concert as the milestone to highlight all that was accomplished.

15 Years of Sistema
The 2025–26 season will mark Sistema Winnipeg’s 15th anniversary, a significant milestone for the program and the broader community it serves. While programming pauses for the summer, Sistema Winnipeg is using this time to reflect, plan, and prepare for a celebratory year ahead. We look forward to reconnecting in September with renewed momentum as we celebrate the past, the present, and the future of Sistema Winnipeg.
We wish all students and supporters a restful summer break. Thank you for being part of this vibrant, transformative journey!
