Paul Shaffer & The WSO

2 Hours

Enjoy an evening with the legendary Paul Shaffer (who served as David Letterman’s musical director and sidekick for 33 years) as he takes you on a symphonic journey through his musical life, from his earliest beginnings in Thunder Bay, studying piano classically, tempering this training with his discovery and love of rock ‘n’ roll, his fascination with the theme from Exodus, and his momentary detour into surf music. The evening also celebrates the soul music of his youth and The Beatles, and tracks his five-decade career, illuminating it with stories of both the songs and the people he’s encountered along the way. Special guest star Valerie Simpson, the Motown legend responsible for “I’m Every Woman,” “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and many more iconic hits, joins him on his musical romp, including on a performance of Paul’s own outrageous hit “It’s Raining Men.” You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll have the musical time of your life.
