Tara Fensom

Originally from Rochester, New York,  Tara Fensom joined the WSO after playing with the Charlotte Symphony in North Carolina. She has also played with the Virginia Symphony and New World Symphony, with which she recorded and toured  South America, Italy and Israel. She has also toured Asia several times as a substitute with the Philadelphia Orchestra, performing in China, Japan and South Korea.

Tara has performed at music festivals, including Aspen, Chautauqua and Sarasota, and has performed as a soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Virginia Symphony and Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also given recitals in New York City at Lincoln Center and throughout England and Eastern Europe. Tara graduated from the Juilliard School with both Bachelor’s and Master of Music degrees, studying with Dorothy DeLay, Hyo Kang and Stephen Clapp. When not performing, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris and daughter Hannah.
