Sound of Love Women's Choir
The Sound-of-Love choir was established in February 2019 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Obviously, it is still a very young choir. The Leader of the choir is Madam Xiaohong Wang. Since its establishment, the choir has been invited to perform for various major events, including a concert “Ocean, Hometown”, 80 world performances of Wang Liping’s concert tour. The concert was hosted by the Global Chinese Choir Association and the North American Asian Performance Association, with a well-known conductor, Mr. Wanjun Qiao. In the same year, the choir held a special concert in Winnipeg. Duo to its excellent performance, its reputation has been well received. Late on, the choir was also invited to perform for local Chinese community and Winnipeg folk festivals. Again, its performance was highly praised.
In early February 2020, together with Impression Media, the Choir successfully held the first Chinese Spring Festival Concert in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Although affected by the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020, the choir has been continuing its online and offline vocal training and performance practice. On October 1, 2022, the choir collaborated with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra for the first time and performed the Chinese folk song “Jasmine Flower”. Again, its performance was well received by the audience!
The major mandates of the choir are to provide learning and performance opportunities for those who enjoy singing, and to enrich the culture/entertainment activities for Chinese community, and to spread traditional Chinese culture. The choir hopes to work together with other communities and ethnic groups to enhance culture exchange. The choir wishes to work with the WSO again in the near future. Finally, the choir welcomes everyone who enjoys singing to join the group.
