Shauna Johannesen
Shauna is an award-winning writer, actor, and director. Her plays have been produced across Western Canada and the US.
Having lived in Edmonton, Michigan, Massachusetts, Kenya, Honduras, Amsterdam, and Vancouver, Shauna finds inspiration everywhere. (She also leaves behind things like keys and water bottles and – only occasionally – a passport.)
Shauna loves stories in any form and has written a musical puppet film about bedbugs, a bilingual Christmas play, several one-act comedies, some symphony shows, and a TV pilot about feisty nuns.
As an actor, you can find Shauna on shows like Remarkably Bright Creatures, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, and The Babysitters Club.
The oldest of six siblings, Shauna’s had a lot of practice entertaining and being entertained by kids. She now has two kids herself and is married to a musician with whom she often collaborates. She’s so glad you’re coming to the symphony.
