Onalea Gilbertson
Onalea is thrilled to be back on stage with Dandi Productions, with whom she has performed across the world. She is a storyteller who creates roles internationally in music, theatre, cabaret and with symphony orchestra; most recently playing the role of Hecate in the immersive theatrical piece Sleep no More in New York City.
As a recording artist she effortlessly dances between genres masterfully blurring the lines between Cabaret, Old style Jazz, Big band, Chamber music, Art songs, Dynamic Pop, Torch & Twang and Electronica. She has recorded four CD’s and is in the process of releasing her 5th studio album on Vinyl called The End Of The World. Onalea’s original pieces REQUIEM FOR A LOST GIRL: A Chamber Musical About Homelessness and BLANCHE: The Bittersweet Life Of A Wild Prairie Dame premiered in New York City along with the co creation MATA HARI IN 8 BULLETS, as special events of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. REQUIEM was recently presented as a part of Vancouver Opera’s season.
