Natalie MacMaster

One of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia’s most important exports, Natalie MacMaster began playing fiddle when she was nine years old. A step dancer as well, she released her debut album Four on the Floor when she was 16 years old. Since then, the JUNO and East Coast Music award winner has built a sterling, multi-decade career on electrifying playing and must-see live performances. Natalie has released a dozen records, toured with the Chieftains, Faith Hill, Carlos Santana, and Alison Krauss, and has recorded with Yo-Yo Ma.

In 2002 MacMaster married Donell Leahy, who rose to prominence as the lead fiddle player for Leahy, a JUNO award-winning Celtic folk group that originally included 11 members of the Leahy family. MacMaster and Leahy have seven children and have released three albums together.
