Marie-Elyse Badeau

Marie-Elyse Badeau first entered the Conservatory of Music in Quebec City in 2000 in violin before switching to viola in 2005. She then continued in the class of François Paradis until the obtention of her artist diploma in 2012. At that point, she moved to the USA where she completed a master’s degree with Ivo-Jan van der Werff at the prestigious Rice University in Texas.

Since the beginning of her journey in music, Marie-Elyse has participated in numerous summer festivals and masterclasses including Domaine Forget, the American Conservatory of Fontainebleau, and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra where she had the chance to perform for renown violist and conductors such as Atar Arad, Antoine Tamestit, Bruno Pasquier, Roberto Diaz, Christoph Eschenbach and Michael Sanderling to name only a few.

In last few years, Marie-Elyse won many scholarships and took part in orchestra tours in the USA and China. She was part of The Orchestra Now at Bard College last season.
