Manitoba Chinese Choir

Founded in the fall of 2019, the vision of The Manitoba Chinese Choir was to create a platform that would bring people together with a passion for singing while simultaneously enriching and promoting Chinese culture. The choir is supported by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of China, with connections to Manitoba Great Wall Performing Arts and the choir department of Sichuan Conservatory of Music. In a short period of time, the choir has added a number of Chinese and Western songs to their repertoire. Songs such as “Sleepless Tonight”, “Angel Figure”, “Hawthorn Tree”, “Red River Valley,” “Long Live our Motherland,” and many more. Among these, “Sleepless Tonight ” was performed and viewed online at the 2021 Spring Festival Gala, at the New Zealand Chinese New Year Concert, and at the 2021 all-Canadian Chinese New Year Concert. Both performances were highly praised by audiences all around the world. The choir continues to actively participate on various platforms and remains a friendly community art group with high artistic qualities.
