Laura Cotton

Laura Cotton is grateful to have been born and raised on the traditional ancestral lands of the Anishinaabe, on a little lake off just of the Winnipeg River, outside of what is now known as Kenora, in Northwestern Ontario. Professionally, she hosts a wide variety of community-led events and gatherings that bring people into relationships with each other to explore the creative process. She is passionate about inviting people to honour, develop and share one another’s gifts in order to help create a community where everyone’s value is recognized and where we can all feel welcome to belong.

Laura has recently embarked on a journey to deepen her understanding by returning to study Art and Expressive Arts Therapy at the Winnipeg Holistic Expressive Arts Therapy Institute and intends to continue to cultivate her skills in facilitation, advocacy and community development.

She is the lead singer of the band, “The TwentyTwoz,” who are currently recording their debut album. Advanced tracks can be heard on all major streaming platforms.

She is a long-time member of the women’s vocal ensemble “Les Filles d’esprit” with whom she had the great pleasure of her first experience singing with the WSO in 2016. This is her first solo appearance with the orchestra, and she is absolutely thrilled.
