Konektis

Konektis was formed in the fall of 2016. The word “Konektis” comes from the language of Esperanto and means “connected”. Indeed, the mandate of Brandon’s charismatic choral group Konektis is to be connected to the music, to the audience, and to each other.

The members of Konektis range in age from 17 – 63 and the 2022 – 23 edition of Konektis includes singers from the communities of Carberry, Virden, Kola, Killarney, Neepawa, Brandon, Minnedosa, and Glenboro. The group includes Brandon University students & alumni, community musicians, and many local music educators.

34 singers sang in the Western Manitoba Youth Choir

26 members have connections to Brandon University’s School of Music

Konektis is led by Conductors Michelle Chyzyk and Marla Fontaine. Collaborative pianist Justine Burke and Assistant Conductor Clint McLachlan complete the dedicated team.
