Julie Savard
Born in Montréal, Quebec, Julie Savard started playing the violin at the age of nine. After completing her Bachelor of Music in performance at McGill University, she continued her studies at the Glenn Gould Professional School of Music in Toronto with Lorand Fenyves where she received an Artist Diploma.
She has played with numerous orchestras, including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at the Bravo! Vail Valley Summer Festival, the National Ballet of Canada, the Encounters Chamber Orchestra, the Kingston Symphony Orchestra and the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, she has been heard across Canada, with performances at the Banff Centre for the Arts, le Domaine Forget, and Winnipeg’s Millennium Centre among others.
She joined the WSO as a first violinist in 2002 and shortly after also became a member of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra.
Julie enjoys teaching violin and spending time with her two daughters Émilie and Chloé.
