Isabelle Lavoie

Isabelle Lavoie is an active bass trombonist and educator based in Winnipeg. She has performed with many orchestras in Canada and abroad, including the Canadian Opera Company, National Ballet of Canada, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Macao Orchestra, and the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Ms. Lavoie also held the positions of Principal Trombone with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra and Trombone Instructor at Lakehead University in 2016-2017.

Isabelle was a featured artist and clinician at the 2017 International Trombone Festival, and a performer at the 2016 and 2018 festivals. In addition to being actively involved with the International Trombone Association and the International Women’s Brass Conference, she is also a member of Monarch Brass, the Canadian Trombone Quartet, and the Canadian National Jazz Orchestra.

Isabelle holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Montreal and an Artist Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, where she studied with Jeffrey Hall and Gordon Wolfe.
