Isaac Pulford

Isaac Pulford was born into an artistic family and developed a passion for music at an early age. At the age of nine he began studying trumpet privately with Jeff Reynolds. In 1991, Mr. Pulford decided to leave his hometown of Toronto, Ontario to attend high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy. It was there that he continued his trumpet studies with John Lindenau.

Isaac was accepted into the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he attained his Bachelor’s of Music degree in trumpet performance in 1998. While in Cleveland, he studied with the principal trumpet of the Cleveland Orchestra, Michael Sachs. Pursuing his musical education further, Isaac received an Artist Diploma in 1999 from the Vancouver Academy of Music where he studied with Larry Knopp, principal trumpet of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.

In 2000, Mr. Pulford won the second trumpet position with the Victoria Symphony Orchestra. Soon after, in 2001, he won the second trumpet position with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and worked there for seven years. He joined the trumpet section of the WSO in 2009.
