La troupe jeunesse de l’Ensemble folklorique de la Rivière-Rouge was created in the fall of 2011 through the Franco Manitoban Cultural Centre (CCFM) to promote traditional French Canadian and Métis music and dance. Performing as part of l’Ensemble Folklorique de la Rivière-Rouge, these accomplished dancers, musicians and singers have performed for thousands of people at events such as Festival du Voyageur, Folklorama, Canada Games, Indigenous Day Live for the Aboriginal Peoples’ Television Network, and have been the special guests of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, Oh My Darling, Sierra Noble, Patti and Alex Kustoruk, Ray St. Germain, and Fire and Smoke. In 2013, La Troupe Jeunesse represented Canada at the prestigious Gannat International Festival of Folk Dance in France. In November 2014, they were incredible ambassadors for Canada at the Milwaukee International Folklore Festival – Holiday Folk Fair International. They represented Canada at the Festival Zacatecas del Folclor Internacional, Mexico in 2015 and in 2017 they represented the French Canadian and Métis culture in beautiful Surabaya, Indonesia at the Surabaya Cross Culture International Folk Art Festival. They have just returned from Santiago de Cali, Colombia, where they represented Canada at Il Encuentro Mundial de Culturas Populares. Their perfect mix of music, dance and fun will surely have you tapping your feet!
