Emma Quackenbush
Acting Assistant Principal
A member of the WSO, cellist Emma Quackenbush holds a Master’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor degree in Music Performance from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music.
A diversified performer, Emma has appeared in many chamber and solo engagements in and around Winnipeg including performances in the 2011 and 2012 New Music Festivals, a collaboration with members of Bedroom Community – an Icelandic record label/collective – and is further familiar to audiences through her work with the Groundswell and Virtuosi concert series. Other musical highlights include performing in China with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra, serving as a mentor at the Aspen Music festival, and most recently working towards establishing an active private studio.
Emma is devoted to her beautiful family and enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and running in the time she spends away from her instrument.
