Ben Done

Tenor Benjamin Done completed his Master of Music degree in Opera at the University of Toronto. Originally from Georgetown, Ontario, he completed his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Music, majoring in Piano, and his Bachelor of Education at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. On the concert stage, Ben has been featured as tenor soloist with various ensembles including Tafelmusik and the Sudbury Symphony Orchestra in works such as Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and Magnificat, Mozart’s Requiem and Vesperae solennes de confessore, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Lord Nelson Mass, and Schubert’s Mass in G.

In addition to singing with the Canadian Opera Company Chorus and Tafelmusik Baroque Chamber Choir, his operatic credits include Mr. Splinters (The Tender Land), Babylas (Monsieur Choufleuri), Ein Weiser (Hin und Zurük), Hamlet in the student-composer-collective premiere of Disobedience, Charles Darnay (A Tale of Two Cities), John Adams (The Mother of Us All), “Casey” Baldwin (The Bells of Baddeck), Marco Palmieri (The Gondoliers), and Colonel Fairfax (Yeoman of The Guard).
