Alexander Moroz

Alexander Moroz was born into a musical family and began playing the viola when he was nine years old. He has taken part in various summer programs, including Morningside Music Bridge, Orford Arts Festival, and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. In 2018, Sasha took part in the Winnipeg Music Festival and won the Aikins Memorial Trophy, the Festival’s highest award for instrumentalists of every musical discipline. In 2019, Sasha took part in the last NAC Young Artists Program, where he studied with Pinchas Zukerman, Patty Kopec and Grigory Kalinovsky. Sasha is a second-year student at the University of Ottawa studying with Michael Van der Sloot and is honoured to be taking part in the NAC Orchestra Institute for Orchestral Studies.
