Aemilia Moser

Known for her clear tone, agile coloratura, and engaging storytelling, Aemilia is a coloratura soprano from Edmonton, Alberta.

She completed her undergraduate degree in both violin and voice performance with acclaimed Canadian mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Turnbull, and ESO concertmaster Robert Uchida. She is currently completing an Artistic Diploma at the University of Manitoba under the tutelage of Tracy Dahl and Mel Braun.

Aemilia’s roles of notes include Virtu in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea, Pierrot in Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire, Adina in Donizetti’s L’elisir D’amore, Nymph in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, Mab in Jonathan Dove’s The Enchanted Pig, Papagena in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Maureen in Johnathan Larson’s RENT for which she won two Greater Edmonton Cappie Awards.

Aemilia made her symphonic debut with the Chamber Orchestra of Edmonton, performing Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate. In 2021 she joined members of the Edmonton Symphony onstage once again to perform Rejoice Greatly from Handel’s Messiah with the Alberta Baroque Ensemble. Particularly interested in new music Aemilia is set to perform Abigail Richardson-Schulte’s Alligator Pie with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra.

In July, Aemilia won first prize in the CFMTA National Voice Competition. Other awards include the Doris Mills and Red Hugo Memorial Trophies at the Winnipeg Music Festival, the Opera NUOVA Scholarship Competition, the Kiwanis Music Festival Provincials, and the Alberta Baroque Music Society Scholarship for both violin and voice.
