Bach to School, Virtual Edition
Grades 1 – 6
We are preparing a virtual edition of our popular Bach to School program with an anticipated launch in March, 2021. We will feature small ensembles of the orchestra providing educational performances designed for students in grades 1 – 6. Each ensemble’s (strings, woodwind quintet, brass quintet, percussion) educational and engaging performance will be approximately 35-minutes long and will be accompanied by a study guide with lessons to help your students get to know the music and the instruments. These study guides are being developed in partnership with the Manitoba Orff Chapter.
Cost: $100 flat fee for access to all four units (plus one in French)
Virtual Student Matinees
Grades 6 – 12
We miss welcoming your students to Centennial Concert Hall, so we are bringing our musicians in the concert hall to your classroom! We will be highlighting one piece from each of our Classics concerts this year. Twelve pieces with lessons in all will be released, roughly three per month beginning in March, 2021. Teachers will receive a link to the video recording, as well as a comprehensive, curriculum-based lesson plan created by Cheryl Ferguson for band students in the context of our current challenging music education environment.
