Born in Toronto, Takayo Noguchi began studying the violin at the age of three and spent her formative years with Vivian Waters at the Royal Conservatory of Music. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance from the University of Toronto, studying with Annalee Patipatanakoon, and an Artist Diploma from The Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, studying with Mayumi Seiler. She has performed as a chamber and orchestral musician with several ensembles in Toronto including, Via Salzburg, Esprit Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra, and the National Ballet of Canada before accepting a position with the WSO.
