Suzanne McKegney

Suzanne was born and raised in Toronto where she attended North Toronto Collegiate Institute and studied viola at the Royal Conservatory. Further studies at Wilfrid Laurier University were complemented with summers at the Aspen Festival, the Spoleto Festival of Two Worlds and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada. Early professional commitments included the Atlantic and Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestras.
Suzanne has made Winnipeg home since joining the WSO in 1978. She performs regularly with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra and is a founding member of the Cambrian String Quartet. An enthusiastic gardener, she also has a keen interest in things aeronautical and meteorological. She and her husband (retired WSO cellist) Tom Watrous, enjoy travelling and share a love of the outdoors: be it hiking, cycling or cross-country skiing.
