Rodica Filipoi Jeffrey is currently in her fourth season as a member of the second violin section of the WSO. Previously, she held the positions of assistant concertmaster and acting concertmaster with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, acting section violin of the Oregon Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of the Oregon Ballet Theater Orchestra. Since moving to Winnipeg she has performed with the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra and the Rembrandt String Quartet.
Rodica received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, and her Master of Music degree from the University of Oregon, where she was a Graduate Teaching Fellow and a member of the Eugene Symphony and Eugene Opera orchestras. Her teachers have included Pierre d’Archambeau, Carol Sindell, Gregory Fulkerson and Kathryn Lucktenberg.
She is married to trumpeter Paul Jeffrey, and they have two children, Grace and Thomas. She enjoys reading, painting, singing karaoke, and going on bike rides with her family.
