Soaring Strings: Mozart & Brahms

Few great works of music have taken so long to get to a finished product as Brahms’s Symphony No. 1. It took 21 years from sketches to finishing touches, and certified his name alongside Bach and Beethoven as one of the legendary “three B’s” of classical music. Rounding out the evening is Korngold’s Violin Concerto, his best-loved concert piece.
