Due to this program requiring 40 musicians on stage and current physical distancing guidelines in Manitoba, the WSO has regrettably decided to cancel the Saturday, May 15 livestream performance.
We are disappointed to have to cancel the final concert of our 2020/21 Pops series but the safety of our orchestra members and Concert Hall staff is paramount.
The following options are available to current ticket holders:
- Donate your ticket(s) back to the WSO for a charitable tax receipt
- Receive a gift certificate for the value of your ticket(s)
- Receive a full refund for the value of your ticket(s)
Current ticket holders will be contacted with instructions on how to make their request.
Many have wondered if it’s the long winters, something in the water, or maybe the magical prairie wind that makes for so much artistic talent in our beautiful province. Whatever it is, Made in Manitoba showcases a taste of incredible homegrown talent including Raine Hamilton in an intimate and acoustic setting, playing selections from their own recordings with the orchestra.
With influences from her African heritage, la chanson française and American gospel, Kelly Bado’s music crosses cultural barriers. Her debut French language album won World Artist of the Year at the 2018 Western Canadian Music Awards and her new album was nominated for Best Francophone Album of the year at the 2020 Western Canadian Music Awards.
Together, Winnipeg songstress Erin Propp and the incredible guitarist Larry Roy are a JUNO-nominated duo whose music has been described as blurring the edges of the everyday with deeply personal songs and achingly relatable works. This is a return engagement for the pair, who performed with the WSO in 2016.
