Praised by the Toronto Star as “one of those special talents that comes along once in a lifetime” and featured twice on CBC’s 30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians under 30, 27-year old Canadian violinist Blake Pouliot has established himself as a consummate 21st-century artist. Led by maestro Daniel Raiskin, Pouliot performs Samuel Barber’s deeply lyrical Violin Concerto. The evening begins with a groundbreaking work by English composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. Rounding out the program is one of Antonín Dvořák’s most famous works, Symphony from the New World, written during his time in the U.S.
