Bach to School is a bilingual in-school program where a small ensemble of WSO musicians provide an engaging an interactive performance for students right in their own school. WSO has 10 Bach to School small ensembles consisting of string ensembles, brass quintets, and woodwind quintets. Some ensembles’ performances are geared more towards middle school. One string ensemble presents entirely in French.
Each ensemble group shares two 35-minute presentations with various grade levels of students, allowing students to be split into two different audience groups. During these presentations, the musicians often invite the students to play the instruments, conduct the ensemble group, or clap or sing along to a familiar theme.
