For Non-Canadians, please note:

  1. WSO Benefits are only available to Manitoba Health cardholders. For those coming from out of the country Manitoba Health requires a work permit for a minimum of 12 consecutive months duration and proof of residence in Manitoba for a minimum of 6 months (they may require longer). Manitoba health will not accept a month-to-month lease.  At this time there is an up to one-year backlog in processing new health cards. If you require regular prescriptions, we advise bringing a year’s supply with you.
  2. If you are unable to satisfy Manitoba Health’s residency requirements, the WSO will provide emergency only travel medical insurance until such time as you can qualify for a health card. This emergency travel policy will meet the requirements for WSO extended benefits but not for regular doctor visits.
  3. The above is subject to change at any time by the insurers.
  4. The work permit you may receive may only allow you to work with the WSO.
